Hear me out, but I like to believe that Six’s own callous and selfish behavior is what takes away her innocence. By dropping mono, you create the very by product that took away the good that’s in her when the timeline resets and when the thin man takes her away. This causes mono to repeat the cycle of trying to free himself and finding a better timeline where he survives or they both survive together. I don’t like the idea that Six somehow knows the thin man is mono, because if she did then she would, at least I would believe try to go out of her way to be better and save him as to not repeat the cycle. But rather a young child who doesn’t know any better and feels betrayed and feels as if she’s better off alone. It’s sad that mono has to live in an endless loop of suffering and hopeless to find a better timeline all because he wanted to help others and try his best. His soul was literally doomed to repeat this purgatory and end up a husk of his former self whose entire existence is based on the actions of six, hoping that maybe this timeline she will be different and make the right choose. And so now he will do anything now to free himself even out of blind hope to be free if it means his younger self can live a happy new life and not repeat the mistakes of the previous version even though he himself as the thin man won’t get to see true freedom, but rather knowing that at least some version of mono can live happily. It would make sense why mono is so sensitive to the TV’s as it’s his own self calling to him to free him, while the civilians either become slaves to serve as his puppets or weren’t fit to open the door and become apart of the entity of flesh. Plus I feel like the reason the thin man resist so little against mono in the final fight is because it’s older mono letting go and letting his younger self free him of his suffering hoping he will make the right choice as to not repeat the cycle or hope that six will make the right choice this time.

Seems like Ellie should have been the co-op partner. They could have tweaked the plot a little have it make more sense. Also, the horrors of the Necromorphs would be reduced to Isaac since he has fought them before. He would probably more mission driven, so this alteration to his character makes sense. Also, making it so he wouldn't have to worry about ammo type given what he has gone through also makes sense for his character.

I still thoroughly enjoy the third game.

Homecoming was a broken mess of a game, at least my pre-order copy was. The auto would drop, there would be visual glitches. Furthermore, they put way too much focus on combat puzzles. This was the game that made me stop listening to X-Play reviews. X-play gave it a perfect score at the time. There is no way you can describe this game as perfect. It had some interesting creature design, however, there was something off about the game. It definitely felt more "game like" than the other titles of the series. Like defeat all enemies in this arena to progress to the next arena. I have always sucked at combat heavy games. Resident Evil (classic), and silent hill (classic) used enemies as a barrier or a way to keep you moving, rather than the end goal. Think about it, in SH1 while you are in the streets, the enemies are fairly easy to out run, if you don't hesitate or move slowly. In Homecoming you enter an area, fight, new area opens up, fight, new area opens up rinse and repeat.

Also, I absolutely despised the ending where you were throwing markers at the endgame boss, it just felt stupid. Am I alone in this?

Game is great, but the ending was botched

As someone from the US, the cover art was different. Instead of a bloodied inmate screaming in fear, it instead was that electrocuted ghost in the chair getting shocked as the heads of a couple monsters were in the upper corners, one being the needle monster while the other was the bloated monster filled with rats. What stood out to me more with this game back then wasn't even the cover art but a gaming magazine ad. It had the head of an inmate in a toilet. Aside from the Silent Hill 4 magazine ad that had a ghost within the apartment, it was one of the ads to tell me how scary a game was going to be back then.
